Campaign Focus

The overall focus of 'Fuelling the Future: Transport' is to communicate the key role that the chemical sciences must play in the provision of safe, clean, affordable and secure energy. Initially the campaign will focus on the chemical sciences' role in developing fuels and fuel technologies to ensure a sustainable transport future. 

Workshops

At the heart of 'Fuelling the Future: Tranport' is a vision for transport in 2020. The campaign aims to persuade key decision makers, including government, industry and the public, that this vision is socially, economically and environmentally achievable and vital.  

To develop the 2020 transport scenario, the RSC gathered experts from industry and academia in a series of workshops held in the spring. At each workshop, participants discussed a particular potential transport option, and made informed predictions on technological and other barriers, potential market penetration, energy demand and greenhouse emission reduction.
