Education and Qualifications Board

This oversaw the RSC's educational activities and policies, the Education Division, and criteria for admission to membership.

Professional Affairs and Membership Board

Advised the RSC's Council on all policy matters relating to the recruitment and retention of members, professional affairs and activities at both a local and regional level.

Applications Committee

This committee received and considered all applications for admission to RSC membership, for transfer between categories and for the award of Chartered Chemist (CChem).

Committee for Professional Development and Registration

This committee oversaw the RSC registration activities and professional development programmes for practising chemists

Committee for Promotion of Chemistry to the Public

This oversaw RSC Chemistry Week, the national programme of Landmarks and schemes to help fund RSC members to promote science with the public

Committee for Professional and Member Services

This oversaw the RSC networks for student chemical societies, RSC representatives, women members and younger members

Committee for the Recruitment and Retention of Members

Reviewed how the RSC recruits members; oversaw the production of marketing material; advised of changes to membership subscriptions; and oversaw the acquisition of member benefits

Ethical Practices Committee

This committee oversaw and set the code of conduct for RSC members

Science and Technology Board

This advised on the RSC's science and technology policies and activities, conferences and awards.

RSC Travel Grants Committee

Reported to Science & Technology Board
