Professional Affairs and Membership Board

The Professional Affairs and Membership Board (PMB) advises the RSC's Council on all policy matters relating to the recruitment and retention of members, professional affairs and activities at both a local and regional level. 

The Consultancy Group reports to the PMB.

Key responsibilities of the PMB include: 

• the promotion of chemistry as a profession and the safeguarding of the professional interests of chemical scientists
• the development of effective procedures for the communication of the RSC's objectives and activities with members
• the promotion of the RSC at a local level, through Local Section activities and by facilitating communication between the Local Sections and other RSC groups
• the representation of the membership to the Council and other RSC Boards and Committees
• the development and maintenance of links with government and other bodies, with the aim of furthering the professional interests of chemical scientists and the chemical sciences.
