Council recognises that the expertise of RSC members is a valuable resource. To maximise the involvement of members, Council has a committee structure that oversees the governance of the RSC's scientific, educational, membership and publishing activities.

Policy Boards oversee the development of policy in science, education, membership, publishing, qualifications and external relations.

Member groups look after member inputs through scientific interest groups and sections.

Regulation and advice bodies cover finance, investment and disciplinary matters.

Service delivery committees oversee programmes of activities such as the Benevolent Fund, activities for schools, conferences & awards and major projects such as Chemistry for our Future and Chemistry Innovation Knowledge Transfer Network.
