The RSC is the UK Professional Body for chemical scientists and an international Learned Society for advancing the chemical sciences.
Supported by a network of over 47,500 members worldwide and an internationally acclaimed publishing business, our activities span education and training, conferences and science policy, and the promotion of the chemical sciences to the public.

RSC Council Members are the Trustees of the RSC and oversee the running of the charity. RSC Council meets five times a year.
A Council Working Group reviewed the effectiveness of the governance of the RSC's science, education and membership activities.

There are vacancies for elected positions on Council, Boards and Divisions to serve from the AGM on 10 July 2013.
The 2012 AGM was held in Burlington House, London, on 4 July at 17:00.
