Hospitality Manager

The Chemistry Centre is a prestigious new venue with a unique heritage in the heart of the West End. Part of historic Burlington House on Piccadilly, this flexible space enables us to give excellent service, professional event management and a fine dining experience to our clients and professional members. 

We are looking for a talented and inspiring individual who will help us to realise the full potential of this beautiful building and drive our commercial success by leading and developing our Hospitality Team. This is a key role in our growth plans and an exciting opportunity for the right candidate.

Day to day activities

• Ensuring effective front of house management for hosting events 
• Leading a team of three staff to provide event management, hospitality and front of house services
• Staging small and large-scale events for both internal and external customers
• Managing room bookings, both internal and external, to ensure effective occupancy and to meet customer requirements
• Managing the catering contract with our in-house caterers and ensuring that customer requirements are met. Liaising with the chef to agree menus
• Devising and implementing promotional activities to increase revenue
• Overseeing in-house AV provision (support will be provided via an external company) 
• Managing delegated budgets         

Essential Skills and qualifications

• Event management experience
• Experience of staging large, high-profile events
• Good negotiating skills
• Experience of managing and developing small, dedicated teams
• Excellent customer focus and communication skills
• Experience of managing catering contracts and other suppliers
• Must be able to work flexible hours  

Desirable skills and qualifications

• Appreciation of constraints and opportunities of managing events in a Grade II* listed building
• Familiarity with MS Office suite
• Experience of working with AV technology
• Experience of sales and marketing within the context of commercial venue hire
• Financial awareness and budgetary responsibility
