Project Officer - Chemistry for Our Future
The Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) is the largest organisation in Europe for advancing the chemical sciences. Supported by a network of 44,000 members worldwide and an internationally acclaimed publishing business, our activities span education and training, conferences and science policy, and the promotion of the chemical sciences to the public.
The Chemistry for Our Future programme (CFOF) is a £3.6m pilot project funded by the Higher Education Funding Council for England and managed by the RSC. It consists of over 30 separate projects working with 35 universities, schools, industry, government agencies, professional bodies and other organisations.
Using your degree in chemical sciences and knowledge of higher education and the UK education system, you will oversee the day-to-day running of multiple CFOF projects. This will include building and maintaining relationships with project partners, producing resources including promotional materials and organising national and regional symposia. An understanding and working knowledge of best practice in project management and appropriate methods is essential. Good communication skills are vital along with strong negotiation and influencing skills.
