Drinking water
We have come along way from the first health scare regarding drinking water in the summer of 1858. It was the hottest year on record and the filthy state of the Thames combined with the heat, lead to the river becoming anaerobic and the arrival of the 'Great Stink'. So how have things improved since those days? Is our tap water safe to drink? Are the chemicals added safe? And does bottled water provide more health benefits than tap water?

Why do we need to drink water?
Water makes up between 50 and 70% of our bodies so we need to replace any water we lose

What could we possibly find in it?
Small traces of chemicals, microorganisms and bacteria may occasionally be present prior to treatment

How is it treated?
In order to make water safe to drink it undergoes treatment processes tailored to suit the source of where the water comes from

Are water filters worth the money?
Do water filters make your water taste better? Is it just a matter of personal taste?
