Analytical Research Forum 2008

21 - 23 July 2008
University of Hull, United Kingdom

Introduction

The annual Analytical Research Forum (ARF) is the premier Analytical Science meeting of the RSC and will be held this year at the University of Hull.  The meeting is primarily for early-stage analytical science researchers (industrial scientists, PhD students and postdoctoral fellows) to present their latest results in the context of the wider analytical science community.

The programme, which features both poster sessions and lectures, will include oral presentations from students, medal winners and international leaders in the field. Following the success of the 2007 meeting, we expect this meeting to be attended by around 200 delegates.

Networking

One of the valuable benefits of attending ARF is the opportunity to network with contemporary researchers who cover a wide range of analytical techniques and experience.

Networking will take place through both interactive poster sessions and a lively social programme.

Awards

The programme will feature the SAC Silver Medal and the Ronald Belcher Memorial Lecture.

The SAC Silver Medal is awarded to a young scientist (under the age of 35), working in any field covering the practice and teaching of the analytical sciences.

The aim of the Ronald Belcher Memorial Lectureship is to commemorate the memory of the late Professor Belcher by encouraging young chemists to make a positive contribution to, and to take an active part in, the profession of Analytical Chemistry.
