Bursaries

Generously supported by the Analytical Chemistry Trust Fund (ACTF) of the Analytical Division, the forum is traditionally able to offer a number of discretionary travel bursaries to students.

Am I eligible?

Delegates who wish to apply for a bursary should be students who are resident in the UK or Ireland. To qualify, you must also be either a RSC member or be presenting your work at the meeting, either as an oral presentation or a poster.

For those who are recipients of funding from the ACTF as an SAC Student, RSC/EPSRC Analytical PhD or Analytical Grand Prix, the full cost of the meeting will be covered for both supervisor (when attending with their named student) and their named student for the project. Please register for the conference using the PDF registration form available to download from this page. When you complete the form, please specify your requirements, but note that there is no need to include payment as the costs for your place at the conference will be covered by the ACTF. If you are unsure whether you qualify for funding, then please check with your supervisor or contact RSC Conferences before you attempt to register for the conference.

How do I apply?

It should be noted that the procedure for bursary applications is different from previous years. Delegates who wish to apply for a bursary should complete a bursary application form, available to download from this page, and return it to RSC Conferences. Successful applicants will receive a BACS transfer, or be sent a cheque, to reimburse a proportion of their registration fees, usually £150. Registration for ARF is a separate procedure; delegates must first have registered for ARF to qualify for a bursary.

The deadline for bursary applications is Friday 23 May.
