Registration for Faraday Discussion 140 is closed.

Registration

Registration includes:

• Attendance at the sessions
• Refreshments throughout the meeting
• Attendance at the poster drinks reception on Monday 7 July
• Lunch on Tuesday 8 July
• A copy of the discussion pre-prints
• A copy of the final Faraday Discussion Volume related to FD140 (for full member and non-member registrants), which will be issued approximately 6 months after the date of meeting
• For non-member registrants - membership of the RSC until 2009

Accommodation

Accommodation and additional meals are NOT included in the registration fee.

The catering package is included in the accommodation package, or is available to buy separately for non-residents.

All bedrooms are modern and comfortable single study rooms with en suite accommodation within a ten minute walk of the scientific sessions.

The accommodation package comprises full board en suite accommodation (bed, breakfast and evening meal) at the University of Southampton Glen Eyre Complex on the nights of Monday 7 and Tuesday 8 July to check out on Wednesday 9 July.  This includes lunch on Monday 7 July, evening meal on the night of 7 July and a ticket to the Conference Banquet (including pre-dinner drinks reception) on Tuesday 8 July.

Please note that it is strongly recommended that delegates stay at the Glen Eyre Complex on campus at the University of Southampton as alternative accommodation in the city centre is a 30 minute bus transfer each way in peak times and it will not be possible to get back to the city centre by public transport after 8pm. On campus you will find a range of commercial services including branches of Barclays, Lloyds, HSBC and Nat West Banks, Waterstones bookshop and Endsleigh Insurance.

Catering packages for non-residents

The catering packages listed are already included in the accommodation package - book these only if you are not booking accommodation through the RSC.

The full catering package comprises of lunch on Monday 7 July, evening meal on the night of 7 July and a ticket to the Conference Banquet (including pre-dinner drinks reception) on Tuesday 8 July.

Student Delegates

In order to encourage undergraduate or postgraduate students to attend the Discussion, a reduced conference fee (to include a set of pre-prints but not the final Discussions Volume) is available. This fee applies to those undertaking a full time course for a recognised degree or a diploma at a university or equivalent Institution.

A copy of the publication may be purchased at less than half price, only for orders placed at the meeting; an application form will be made available at the meeting.

RSC Conference Bursaries

RSC Conference bursaries are available to student and younger members of the RSC in the early stages of their career (typically within 5 years of completing a first or postgraduate degree) who do not have support available from their employer or a research grant. To apply for a bursary, please download the Faraday Discussion 140 application form.

Applicants will be notified of the outcome of their applications shortly after the closing date. (Important:  Please send in your application form, but do not submit payment until your bursary has been confirmed). For more details please see the conferences bursaries page.

Terms and Conditions

No reservations for accommodation, meals or social events will be made if payment is not received prior to the start of the conference. All registrations received by the closing date will be acknowledged. If an acknowledgement is not received within 14 days, please contact the RSC Conference Office.
Cancellations received before 6 June 2008 will be subject to an administrative charge of 25%. It will not be possible to offer any refunds on cancellations (including those for accommodation, meals or social events) received after 6 June 2008, although a change in attending delegate can be made at any time. Changes to bookings for accommodation, meals or social events cannot be accepted after 6 June 2008.
