The social programme has been designed to reflect the culturally rich city of Glasgow.
Opening Ceremony - Sunday 2 August 2009
The opening ceremony will begin with a welcome address from Sir Tom McKillop HonFRSC, Chairman of the Royal Bank of Scotland and former Chief Executive of AstraZeneca. This will take place in the 3000 seat Clyde Auditorium, designed by Sir Norman Foster and affectionately known as the "Armadillo" at the SECC.
Delegates will then walk across the River Clyde, to the Glasgow Science Centre for the Welcome Reception.
The opening ceremony will be included in your registration fee.
Congress Banquet - Thursday 6 August 2009
The congress banquet will take place on Thursday 6 August in the Kelvingrove Art Gallery. Recently restored to its original Victorian splendour, and re-displayed to startling effect, Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum is Scotland's most visited attraction.

The dinner will begin with a pre-dinner drinks reception in the Upper Halls of the gallery amidst some of the beautiful art work on display at the museum. A traditional Scottish piper will then play guests into dinner in the Centre Hall, a breathtaking space at the heart of building.
Delegates will need to buy tickets for the Congress Banquet. Please note there is limited availability.
