The prestigious RSC Organic Division Poster Symposium-sponsored by F. Hoffmann-La Roche, Ltd., was held at the Chemistry Centre in London on 3 December.

The symposium was attended by delegates from academia and from a wide range of companies that rely on the skills and dedication of organic chemists.

The exceptional entries were judged by Dr John Clough (Syngenta) and Professor David O'Hagan (University of St. Andrews). The prize winners were: Christopher Spicer (1st prize, University of Oxford), Malcolm Spain (Runner up Prize, University of Manchester) and Rebecca Maksymowicz (Runner up Prize, University of Oxford). The participant's prize was awarded to Vincent Gray (University College London). This year, for the first time, there was also an industry prize. Selected by industry delegates and overseen by Dr Andrew Thomas (F. Hoffmann-La Roche, Ltd.), it went to Diego Ghislieri (University of Manchester).

Active participation between students and delegates resulted in a highly successful and enjoyable day. Thanks are extended to the judges, the scientific committee and the large number of academic supervisors and their research groups who supported this year's event. Finally, the RSC Organic Division would like to thank the following sponsors for their generous support of this year's event.
