Centenary Lectureship current winner, John Katzenellenbogen
The winner of the RSC Centenary Lectureship, Professor John Katzenellenbogen from the University of Illinois at Urbana, U.S.A will be delivering a lecture at a number of locations throughout the UK in December 2009.

He won the award for his creative combination of organic synthesis with biochemistry, molecular & structural biology, and spectroscopic methods to address major problems in biology and medicinal chemistry

Professor Katzenellenbogen's has offered the Universities a choice of lecture titles, each institution will choose from:

  • Estrogens and Estrogen Receptors: Structure, Function, Ligand Discovery and In Vivo Imaging
  • Estrogens and Estrogen Receptors: Design, Discovery and Expedited Synthesis of Ligands of Unusual Structure and Activity
  • Nuclear Hormone Receptors: Positron Emission Tomographic Imaging of Estrogen and Androgen Receptors and Receptor Function in Breast and Prostate Cancer
