Bringing Chemistry into the Classroom
• The Agri-Food and Bio-Sciences Institute at New Forge Lane Belfast will provide visiting lecturers to local Schools and Colleges in Chemistry Week. The lectures will be aimed at KS4 and are as follows: 1. Dr Norman Gault: "Nutrition and exercise" or "Alcohol in the diet" 2. Dr Bruce Moss: "Food colorants: chemistry and application" 3. Dr Ann Fearon: "The science of spreadable butter" or "Tailored foods: animal products to meet our nutritional needs" 4. Dr Linda Farmer: "Delicious or disgusting: the science of flavour" Schools and Colleges to contact Linda Farmer at linda.farmer@afbini.gov.uk to arrange a time and a date for any of the above lectures.
