RSC Bill Bryson Prize 2010
Calling all budding science communicators!
If you're passionate about science and keen to get your message across, then this competition is for you!
The RSC Bill Bryson Prize is an exciting science communication competition for schools.
The competition is judged in two categories:
- primary school
- and secondary school.
Both individual and joint entries will be accepted.
Cash prizes will be awarded to the best entries (£500 to the schools and £100 to winning entries). An awards ceremony will be held in London in the Autumn term.
Please note: Entries will NOT be returned.
The 2010 competition is now closed. Winners will be announced in October, with an awards ceremony for the winning participants whose prizes will be presented by Bill Bryson. Details of the 2011 competition will be published in due course, please keep an eye out on the RSC website for further information. If you would like to enter the 2011 competition once the opening date has been announced, you can download the entry form and return it to us at the address below. An email address is included on the entry form if you would prefer to enter by email.
CREST Awards accreditation
CREST is Britain's largest national award scheme for project work in the STEM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths). With further development there may be potential for your Bill Bryson prize entry to be extended into a CREST Awards project. Further information can be found on the CREST website.
2009 competition
A stop-motion animation, The other CO2 problem, has won the overall prize in the 2009 Bill Bryson competition.

The British Science Association's CREST Award Scheme
CREST is Britain's largest national award scheme for project work in the STEM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths).
