North East Regional Coordinator, Aimhigher Chemistry: The Next Generation
Kevin Carr spent ten years in the pharmaceutical industry before setting up his own chemical waste management company. On closing down the company he went to Sunderland University to do his BSc in chemistry and then PhD research. After completing his PhD research he did a PGCE in secondary science before becoming Northeast Regional Coordinator in September 2006. He is based in the University of Sunderland where he also has a part time postdoctoral role looking at bio markers in Autism. His role as Regional Coordinator involves working with the five NE Universities and other partners to ensure that a range of Chemistry outreach activities are available to students in all parts of the region.
