Residential School: Medicinal Chemistry
The next course will be held in summer 2011.
The course is directed primarily at graduate and post-doctoral chemists with 1-5 years experience in the field of drug research.
The objectives of the course are to highlight the current understanding of the factors governing modern drug discovery. Although the course will focus on general principles rather than specific diseases, there will be accounts of case histories of drug discovery illustrating modern methodology.
Teaching is by a series of lectures and case studies from experts in the field and through tutorial sessions.
Final year PhD students in pharmacy and organic chemistry contemplating a career in medicinal chemistry will find the course of use, and a number of bursaries are available for full-time students in membership of the RSC.
The course is held every two years.
