In brief
Meet the Universities 2008
ChemNet, the Royal Society of Chemistry's (RSC) network for 16-18-year olds, will be running Meet the universities 2008 at the Royal Horticultural Halls in Westminster, London on Saturday 5 July. The all-day event will offer ChemNet members the opportunity to speak with representatives from universities offering chemical science degrees and find out more about the courses. On the day there will also be seminars and workshops on topics such as UCAS applications.
According to ChemNet executive Dr Robert Bowles, the event is designed to help ChemNet members decide what chemical science degree to study and where. 'By talking to several university representatives on the same day members will be able to make direct comparisons and narrow down the list of universities they visit before they apply. Based on last year's event, students got to spend much longer talking to representatives from HE chemistry departments than at other careers events'.
Admission is free for ChemNet members and teachers who bring their students.
