The RSC's highly successful Spectroscopy in a Suitcase scheme is now available to schools in Scotland.

The outreach activity gives school students the chance to learn about spectroscopy through hands-on experience. As well as covering the principles of spectroscopic methods, the activities use real life contexts to demonstrate the applications of the techniques.

Also available in England, Wales and Northern Ireland, the events have a strong emphasis on encouraging school pupils to consider studying chemistry and the career opportunities available. The equipment is also available on a short-term loan basis.

Schools interested in holding a workshop should contact the RSC. Details are available from the Spectroscopy in a Suitcase website.
