The Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining (IOM³) has recently relaunched their Schools Affiliate Scheme (SAS). The scheme provides support and resources that enrich the teaching of materials topics in the 11-19 curriculum and provides teachers with the knowledge and understanding necessary to teach these areas with confidence and enthusiasm.   

Standard membership of the scheme is free and gives teachers access to a wide range of resources through the SAS website. These include newsletters, support literature, magazines and journals, presentations, links to the Institute's network of local societies and access to the Materials Information Service. 

Members also have the access to additional resources such as curriculum-related materials sessions in school, materials discovery boxes or attending a conference for teachers, which incur a small charge.
