Employability Skills
The RSC are working on clarifying the perceived mismatch between the competencies of graduates, and the needs of graduate employers. Chemical science graduates need to be able to firstly recognise their skill-sets as well as being able to communicate their competencies effectively to future employers.
As part of the HE STEM Programme the RSC are committed to:
- Recognising skills valued by employers
- Supporting students, the workforce and HEI lecturers in skills training
Employability skills work is underway, so please check this web page again for new and updated information.
The RSC are also developing resources for use in undergraduate curricula in the form of Context- and Problem-Based Learning, which provide valuable employability skills training to students.
