Industrial Placements
Industrial placements (IPs) and internships are considered to have a major impact on increasing employability. They provide a valuable opportunity for students to experience working in industry as well as providing an important and well-founded mechanism for chemistry departments to forge links with industry.
As part of the HE STEM Programme the RSC are focusing on:
- Supporting placement provision and uptake
- Increasing availability and improving access to IPs for students and IP coordinators
- Enhancing the IP experience for students, employers and IP coordinators
A best practice guide to hosting industrial placements in chemistry is currently being developed.
