Undergraduate Ambassadors Scheme
The Undergraduate Ambassadors Scheme (UAS) provides a framework for a module that awards academic credit to STEM undergraduates in their penultimate or final year of university, working with teaching and pupils in local schools.
- UAS is operated on a not-for-profit basis and is currently funded by the Training and Development Agency for Schools (TDA).
- Module framework is structured yet flexible so can be easily adapted to individual department/university structures e.g. in terms of credit weighting, whether it is run as a stand alone module or an alternative final year project etc.
- Students usually spend one day per week in a school for a full semester.
- UAS provides all module materials for departments and examples of materials from departments who have already run a UAS module e.g. module outlines, assessment methodology, recruitment and training of undergraduates etc.
For more information about the scheme, visit the UAS website.
