Industrial placements

A number of UK university degrees in the chemical sciences include a year working in industry

This offers the opportunity to gain valuable paid experience working on interesting projects in an industrial environment.

RSC members can find out more about the placements on offer; some offer summer work placements as well as year out placements. 

Remember to discuss any application for year out placements with your department's Industrial Placements Tutor.

When you click on any of the links on the Working in Industry page you will be prompted to enter your username and password. Please note the default:

Username: membership number (first 6 digits)
Password: the default password is your date of birth (YYYYMMDD format) 

Each link will give you access to placement information and company details as well as whether the company accepts the Standard Application Form.

Many employers ask applicants to complete the Standard Application Form (SAF) which has been agreed between all the university and college careers services and the representatives of many graduate employers.

Not all employers accept it, but many do.
