Travel and accommodation

UK tours

We will pay for your accommodation, breakfast and dinner.  Lunch is usually provided by the companies we visit.

Travel from the hotel to the companies is by coach - this is fully paid for by the RSC.

You will be expected to pay for your own travel to and from the hotel at the beginning and end of the tour.  No grants or bursaries are available from the RSC.

European tours

The costs for these tours are covered jointly by the RSC and the German Chemical Society, GDCh.  We will pay for return flights from the UK to Germany, transfers from the airport to the hotel and coach travel from the hotel to the companies.  

In Germany - hotel accommodation and breakfasts will be paid for.  Dinner will be provided on the Sunday night, but you may be expected to cover the cost of your evening meal on the Monday night (when there's often free time incorporated into the programme).  Lunches are usually provided by the companies we visit.

In the UK - hotel accommodation, breakfasts and evening meals will be paid for.  Lunch will be provided by the companies we visit.

You will be expected to pay for your own travel to and from the airport in the UK.  We will arrange your flight from one of two designated UK airports (we will give you the choice of which airport you wish to fly from).  No travel grants or bursaries are available from the RSC.

Visas

If you require a Visa to visit Germany, you must cover the cost of this yourself.  We will assist you in the application process and provide confirmation letters where necessary.

Travel insurance

You will be required to purchase your own travel insurance for the European tours.
