Undergraduate skills record

The Undergraduate Skills Record (USR) is a framework for skills recording and development to be used throughout your undergraduate study. It contains a number of sections including a Skills Audit, a Skills Profile and Career Planning.

A permanent record of the skills developed will serve as evidence to future employers of your competence in these particular areas and it will help when writing a CV and completing application forms.

The Skills Audit is divided into three phases of study.  You are advised to complete Phase 1 during the first few weeks of your course, Phase 2 at the halfway point of your studies, and Phase 3 towards the end of your studies.  You can select the appropriate timescales to suit the nature and length of your own particular course.

The USR is available in two formats:

  1. Booklet - available from your university department or by contacting us using the details below.
  2. Downloadable PDF file - for printing out and completing by hand. If you have the full Adobe Acrobat you will be able to enter and save your information electronically.
