The Undergraduate Skills Record (USR) is a framework for skills recording and development to be used throughout your undergraduate study. It contains a number of sections including a Skills Review, a Skills Profile, and Career Planning.

A permanent record of the skills developed will serve as evidence to future employers of your competence in these particular areas and it will help when writing a CV and completing application forms.

The Skills Audit is divided into three phases of study.  You are advised to complete:

  • Phase 1 during the first few weeks of your course
  • Phase 2 at the halfway point of your studies
  • Phase 3 towards the end of your studies.

You can select the appropriate timescales to suit the nature and length of your own particular course.

The USR has now been moved online! This update into an electronic format allows students to create an account and record and save their skills continuously, set goals and future targets, and generate a skills report at any point.

To create an account, click the link and click on 'Sign Up' under the 'Are you a student?' banner.
