Specialist in Land Condition (SiLC)
The RSC is one of eight professional bodies involved in the registration of Specialists in Land Condition (SiLC). All relevant professional bodies have been invited to participate in the SiLC Professional and Technical Panel (PTP) to develop a system for the registration of individuals completing the Land Condition Record (LCR). The use of a registered SiLC will give the highest level of credibility to the information that is included in the LCR.
The pilot scheme involved 15 people 12 of whom gained registration as a SiLC. More than 100 people have now been awarded SiLC status.
The RSC is represented on the PTP by Anwen Hughes, Colin Macdonald and Jane McLauchlin, along with representatives from the Association of Geotechnical Specialists, Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management, Institution of Civil Engineers, Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, Geological Society, Chartered Institution of Environmental Health and the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment.
More information on the SiLC Registration Scheme, including details of the next Training Day for prospective applicants, is on the SiLC website.
