Self and Peer Assessment Techniques
This workshop provides a series of novel techniques which can be applied to some of the more difficult areas of learning in science such as calculations and particulate nature of matter. Chris Baker illustrates how the techniques can be linked with motivational learning strategies such as co-operative learning at all levels from KS3 to A Level.
The workshops will cover the following:
- Using peer assessment to improve students' expertise in scientific calculations
- Peer assessment and Science in the News
- Self and peer assessment techniques for HSW
- Linking self and peer assessment with co-operative learning to improve understanding of difficult concepts
