Impact rewards at the National Science Learning Centre
Many of the NSLC courses for teachers and technicians in maintained schools or colleges in the United Kingdom could secure an Impact Reward to allow them to go to the National Science Learning Centre. This will be indicated by the Impact Reward logo by the course title or in the details, and delegates can apply for this award by clicking the logo and completing the application form.
In the application the delegate must indicate how they plan to make an impact back in school after attending the course and the evidence that indicates this has been made.
Delegates receive confirmation of an Impact Reward within 10 working days of their application, generally at the same time as they are notified that they have a reserved place on the course.
The Impact Reward money is designed to cover:
- course fees
- supply cover
- travel
- accommodation
- the participant's equipment for school
Or to be used in any other way that you believe will help to improve the teaching of science.
The funding comes from the Wellcome Trust in the form of a bursary. During 2007 the maximum Impact Reward is £822 cash back for your school. The course information will indicate in its details if it has an Impact Reward associated with it.
The Impact Reward is paid directly to the school that the teacher or technician comes from upon completion of the course and any conditions attached to the award.
