About the Virtual Library
Members of the RSC can access premium chemical science e-books and journals for free.
What is the Virtual Library?
The Virtual Library is a collection of full text e-books and journals from various publishers and sources which can be accessed 24/7 from any internet connected PC anywhere in the world.
Who can access it?
Anyone with a current RSC membership number can use the Virtual Library.
Why use the RSC Virtual Library?

- Quick searches enabled by powerful interfaces.
- Extensive chemical sciences coverage including:
- business
- environment
- physical and chemical property data

- Download or browse full text journal or book content.
- Support from Library and Information Centre staff.
How do I access it?
When you try to search any of the Virtual Library resources you will be prompted to enter your username (which is your RSC membership number) and your password (which is your date of birth in the format yyyymmdd).
What can I access?
Select one of the current available resources for more detailed information.
Can I search resources together?
At the moment you can only search one resource at a time. We are currently investigating methods of cross-searching combined resources.
