Free chemical information resource of the month - September 2007
Every month, the LIC will recommend a free of charge chemical information resource based on our experiences of answering members' queries at the Chemical Enquiries Help Desk.
You may find this regular feature useful for
- improving the scope of your research
- increasing awareness of freely available resources
- finding out more about the potential of familiar resources
INCHEM is our resource of the month where you will find information on chemicals commonly used throughout the world which may also occur as contaminants in the environment and food. The data, internationally compiled and peer reviewed from a collaboration between the International Programme on Chemical Safety (IPCS) and the Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety (CCOHS) includes:
- Environmental Health Criteria (EHC) monographs
- Health and Safety Guides (HSGs)
- International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) - Summaries and Evaluations
- Poisons Information Monographs (PIMs)
- Screening Information Data Set (SIDS) for High Production Volume Chemicals
