Research and access to electronic resources
The RSC Library has a substantial electronic resource available to all members via remote access. Logging on is simple. Go to the Virtual Library link and enter your membership number and password (default set at your date of birth) and search the resource of your choice. However please note that:
- Elsevier archive, journals and e-books requires a separate password through registration to ScienceDirect. Library staff must be contacted to gain access to this resource.
Chemical Enquiry Helpdesk
This is a popular enquiry service for all members who wish Library staff to carry out research for them. In addition Library staff will do their best to help those members who used to visit the Library to find relevant material. The service will be augmented by all the on-site resources such as Scopus, Web of Science and Chemical Abstracts cdroms (1977-2006). As a special membership benefit for the closure, Library staff will search commercial online databases from STN International and waive any hourly staff charges. This means we will pass onto you database costs only.
Historical and genealogical enquiries
A full service can still be provided by Library staff and members should experience no change.
Free access to quality business and chemical sciences e-journals and e-books 24/7 globally
A fast, reliable, confidential and largely cost free service to meet members information requirements
The RSCs historical chemistry collections and services.
