Major Chemical Information Resources
Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC)
The RSC's web site covers all the RSC's extensive activities, from professional and learned society work to the various electronic and printed products generated by its information services. Includes the RSC publications catalogue, RSC journals, conferences, newsletters and press releases. The Library and Information Centre's books and images catalogue (which is searchable) and periodicals list are also held here.
chemsoc, the chemistry societies' network
From chemsoc you can find extensive learning resources, information on conferences and meetings, jobs and careers, and many links to other sites via the web links database. The chembytes infozone is a virtual library, providing science, industry and product news, major references and publications, access to chemical information providers and an online magazine with feature articles from a variety of sources, including Chemistry World. The latest addition to chemsoc is Visual Elements, a most striking representation of the periodical table. You can click on the element you are interested in to find a full description of that element plus useful physical property data.

Links for Chemists
Hosted at the University of Liverpool's chemistry department, is one of the UK's largest and most comprehensive indexes of chemistry resources. It lists all UK chemistry departments and a growing number of international chemistry departments, as well as providing links to chemical companies, chemical societies, funding bodies and a wide range of chemical information sites.
ChemDex
This site hosts a number of important www packages including ChemDex, a well organised and extensive list of world-wide chemistry sites with a good company and business section. This site also links to WebElements, a periodic table linked to physical property data.
About - The Human Internet [Chemistry]
One of the many "About" guides to subject areas on the Web. The chemistry about.com home page consists of a number of very practical web sites in chemistry, especially useful for students at school or college. Of particular note is a "how things work" section, with topics as varied as drug testing at the Olympics, green potatoes and nanotechnology.
American Chemical Society (ACS) Chemistry.org
The ACS Chemistry.org portal is designed to bring together both ACS and Chemical Abstracts Service (CAS) resources. Includes ACS journals, books, conferences, meetings, the STN host, chemical patents, ACS electronic directories and the Chemical Sciences Graduate School Finder. In the near future special services will be available only to registered users.
ChemIndustry.com
A comprehensive directory and search engine for chemical and related industry professionals.
Intute
The physical sciences gateway of the Resource Discovery Network (RDN). The RDN is funded by the Higher Education Funding Councils of the UK via JISC. The subject gateways are designed to provide catalogues of high quality Internet resources for use by students in further and higher education in the UK.
OSTI (Office of Scientific and Technical Information)
Provides the capability to search across a large number of peer reviewed journal literature, focusing on the physical sciences and other disciplines of concern to the U.S. Department of Energy.
CHEMINFO: Chemical Information Sources
A regularly updated guide to world-wide chemistry information resources from Indiana University.
Imperial College, Chemistry Department
Provides another important academic resource focusing on new developments and research on the Internet. Areas of interest to chemists include molecular modelling - for example structural chemistry, conferences, communication between chemists and chemical innovation.
