ChemNet Ambassador Training

The RSC’s ChemNet network has now grown to over 5000 members and we are getting ready for the next programme of school visits. In order to ensure we reach as many schools as possible, we need ChemNet Ambassadors to help us carry out these visits.
This is the chance to get involved by signing-up for a training session and registering your willingness to go out on visits. Those with comparatively recent experience of a chemistry degree course are particularly welcome to take part, although the scheme is open to all those with an enthusiasm for chemistry.
These school visits are rewarding, important and enjoyable. Students like to hear from “real, live chemists”, teachers enjoy the feeling of external support and Ambassadors themselves invariably enjoy the visits. As an added benefit, such activities can be used to fulfil any outreach objectives set as part of continued professional development.
Enthusing the next generation of potential chemists is of vital importance so please do get involved if you can!
All those wishing to become Ambassadors are required to attend a training evening to learn about ChemNet; see the presentation and find out what a typical visit entails. Reasonable travelling expenses are paid for attending training and for any school visits undertaken.
We are arranging training sessions across the UK in July and August 2012, please use the links to register for a course in your area.
