The first ChemNet event- Birmingham 13 December 2006

The first ChemNet event was held at Birmingham University Chemistry Department on 13 December 2006. Over 20 local ChemNet members and RSC members braved the torrential rain and ferocious winds to hear a talk from Professor Richard Tuckett about his research into the impact of manmade chemicals on the Greenhouse effect and afterwards enjoyed a fine buffet supplied by the West Midlands RSC section.  Staff and students from Birmingham University Chemistry Department also came along to meet ChemNet members- or maybe it was the free food on offer that enticed them out?! The admissions tutor at Birmingham had noticed a number of UCAS forms mentioning membership of ChemNet.
