ChemNet members visit Croda Chemicals Europe
On 27 March 2007 ChemNet organised our first chemical company visit for ChemNet members. Forty students from a college in Grimsby visited Croda Chemicals in Hull.
They received a presentation from the team at Croda and had a tour of the production plants as part of the Visiting the Chemical Industry section of their Salters Advanced Level Chemistry course.

In Hull, Croda manufacture additives which change the properties of plastics used in drink bottles. ChemNet members learned more about research chemists at Croda changed a low value product to a high value one after researching a new process which uses a palladium catalyst.
More visits for ChemNet members are being organised. Contact the RSC ChemNet Executive to find out more about organising a visit in your local area.
