Executive Committee

Welcome to the web pages of the Royal Society of Chemistry's Materials Chemistry Forum.

The Forum has been in existence since the early 1990s, being formed in response to the growing importance and prominence of materials chemistry, and arising out of the first of the now hugely successful International Conferences on Materials Chemistry held in Aberdeen in 1993.

The Forum seeks to represent the whole scope of materials chemistry within the RSC, working closely with the Journal of Materials Chemistry and liaising with external organisations such as the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining, the Society for Chemical Industry and the Institute of Physics.

The Forum's activities are detailed elsewhere on these pages, but it is significant that it is entering the first year of a strategic planning period (weblink) during which it intends to review and develop its activities further. As such, the Forum is very open to ideas, suggestions and contributions to this process and, indeed, to any other aspect of its activities, and I warmly invite you to contact me or any other member of the Forum Executive (weblink) if you have such a contribution to make.

Finally, I hope that you will find these pages interesting and of some use, whether your interests be centred on materials chemistry or not. I also hope that if you do have interests in the area that you will consider joining the Forum if you are not already a member to add to the 2000 who have joined already and who make this a dynamic part of RSC's activities.
