Joint Pharmaceutical Analysis Group (joint with RPSGB)
The Group was formed in 1970 as a joint venture of the (then) Pharmaceutical Society, Royal Institute of Chemistry and Society for Analytical Chemistry. Their respective successor bodies are the present sponsors of the Group, variously providing financial support, administrative help and nominees on the Group committee of management.
Mission Statement
The remit of JPAG is to "encourage, assist and extend the knowledge and study of pharmaceutical analysis and quality control by the holding of scientific meetings, the promotion of lectures, practical demonstrations and discussions, or by any means consistent with the objectives of the sponsoring bodies and the rules of the Group".
Being simultaneously sponsored by the three apposite professional bodies, while remaining independent but in contact with the industrial, academic and enforcement sectors, JPAG has aimed to be the primary focus in the UK for the presentation and discussion of matters of importance to everyone having an interest in any aspect of pharmaceutical analysis.
The Group organises at least five meetings a year addressing all aspects of pharmaceutical analysis and many related facets of medicines control and registration - meetings are regularly advertised in the RSC Analytical Division Newsletter.
JPAG Conference Analytical Science Award
Dr Claire Martin, was the second recipient of the Joint Pharmaceutical Analysis Group’s (JPAG) Conference Analytical Science Award.
