Following the success of the inaugural award and associated meeting, held in November 2004, the PTG has decided that it should be repeated every alternate year.

The award will be made:

  • In recognition of a significant contribution to process technology innovation and/or development.
  • To stimulate in a wide audience the recognition of the need and opportunities for new and/or improved process technologies.
  • To encourage process technology innovation and/or development in academic establishments.
  • To raise the profile of the Process Technology Group (PTG), the Industry & Technology Forum (ITF) and hence the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC).
  • To promote interest in chemical processing, industrial chemical applications and industrially related chemistry in general.

Any individual working or studying in the general area of process technology, interpreted widely as being any field in which the PTG has a current interest or could reasonably be expected to take an interest.

The individual should be studying for or have recently completed a higher degree awarded by research, from which the work which is the basis of the submission should be drawn.
