SDG Annual meeting: Norwich 17-19 December 2007


The conference was be held at the University of East Anglia in Norwich.  The meeting began on the evening of Monday 17 December 2007 with two tutorial lectures aimed particularly, but by no means exclusively, at graduate students. 

The tutorial lectures were:

  • "High resolution photofragment traslational spectroscopy" by Mike Ashfold (University of Bristol, UK
  • "Does phase matter?" by Ben Whitaker (University of Leeds, UK) 

The invited speakers were:

  • Jos Oomens (FOM-Institute for Plasma Physics, Rijnhuizen, The Netherlands) who gave a talk on "Gas-phase infrared ion spectroscopy unsing a free-electron laser".

  • The PCCP lecture "Preparation, properties and chemical applications of ultracold ions" was given by Stefan Willitsch (University of Oxford, UK) 

  • Arthur Suits (Wayne State University, Michigan, USA) told the meeting about "Roaming atoms: new insights from high resolution imaging and photofragment excitation spectroscopy"

On Tuesday and Wednesday the meeting involved the traditional mix of invited lectures together with both oral and poster contributions.
