Long Service Awards for Group Committee Members

Certificates

A template is available for RSC Groups who would like to make a presentation to one of their long standing committee members in recognition of their services (i.e. at least 10 years’ service).  The template, once completed by the Group, will be run off on RSC small crested paper.  It can be signed either by the RSC President or the Division President/Forum Chair as appropriate before presentation.

Commemorative Plate

An RSC Commemorative Plate is available for presentation by special request to the RSC Communications Director.  These plates are normally available for a Group Committee member who has completed at least ten years’ service.

Record of the presentation of the Long Service Award

Please remember to arrange for a photograph and an article on the presentation to be sent to RSC News.

Analytical Division Distinguished Service Award (DSA)

  • Candidates should have given significant and sustained voluntary service to the Analytical Division over a considerable period of time (typically at least 10 years).   Service will often have been made at subject group or regional level, although service at the national level is equally important.
  • Typical activities carried out during the candidate’s service period would include acting as an office bearer combined with taking a major role in organising events (e.g. scientific meetings; regional Schools Analyst competitions), or other demonstrable initiatives/contributions such as leading steering groups, sub-committees etc.
  • Duration of service by itself should not be considered as sufficient for receipt of the DSA.
  • A Curriculum Vitae highlighting RSC involvement in its various committees and activities should be included.
  • Although the DSA is awarded annually, more than one award can be made in any year if suitable candidates have been nominated.
