In October 2006 the RSC signed a five-year International Cooperation Agreement (ICA) with the Chinese Chemical Society (CCS) in China.

This was the first ICA the RSC signed. Since the event we have built on the links we have made with the co-organisation of conferences and symposium in China, visits by Chinese scientists to the RSC and the launching of an RSC website in Chinese.

We also have a permanent member of staff in China, Chunxiao Zheng, based in Beijing.
