Sri Lanka Section donating chemistry books after the Tsunami |
The Sri Lanka Section was established over 45 years ago. It has recently opened its own office and actively supports chemistry education at school and university level. They run an annual essay competition as well as workshops and seminars for teachers. The Tsunami in 2004 destroyed over 800 schools in Sri Lanka and the local section has provided around 1000 books to help these schools to recover from the disaster.
