The theme for this year's international conference is: 'A Catalyst for Sustainable Industrial Development'. The various sub-themes that will be explored include:

- Chemistry education and the challenge of emerging environmental issues
- Achievement of global competitiveness through quality control and safety
- The role of chemical industry in sustainable food security for Nigeria

Call for Papers
Intending participants who wish to present papers at the Technical Sessions are requested to submit their abstracts (200 words maximum) and full papers (A4, typed and double spaced, 8 pages maximum) by e-mail to Dr. Aliyu Jauro. All papers are to be peer-reviewed and accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings. A publication fee of 3000 NGN will be charged for each accepted paper. Deadline for submission is 15 August 2009.
