Chemistry Lesson in School

In Africa, there is less than one scientist or engineer for every ten thousand people-compared to 50 in the USA or Western Europe. With an estimated 65.3 million secondary school children deprived of education, and some 1.15 million more teachers required to provide education for all, teacher training will be a key focus area of activities. In addition, with most science teaching done on a purely theoretical basis, the network will look at developing exciting outreach opportunities with local teachers, helping inspire pupils to consider pursing science careers.

This page will provide useful downloads for teachers, including information on practicals and other data, including the possibility of equipment donations, that can be used in schools to help demonstrate the importance of the chemical sciences.
