Dr. Robert Mokaya at the House of Commons Launch of the RSC's Archive for Africa
The Royal Society of Chemistry is the first learned and professional organisation to provide developing countries with free access to science journal archives.

The  RSC have opened the access to journal published from as far back as 1841 to research and educational institutions in countries that are listed within PERI. The access to the journals is free of charge electronically in the bid to continue the commitment to help build science and technology capacity.

The RSC president at the time Dr. Simon Campbell launched the Archive for Africa project on the 28th February 2006 in London at the House of Commons.   The project also supports the EU Councils decision to expand collaborations between Europe and Africa via the “Euro-African” networks of universities and centres of excellence”.   The collaborations will allow African countries to achieve their ambitions to develop their science and technology.
