RSC and SNIC

The RSC and the Singapore National Institute of Chemistry (SNIC) have formed an agreement to help their members use the services of the other society more effectively.

The international cooperation agreement was signed on 14 February 2007 in Singapore.

Andy Hor (SNIC President) and Simon Campbell (RSC past President), signed the agreement in the presence of local Singapore chemists, SNIC council members and local RSC members.

The UK's acting High Commissioner David Campbell and Science Attache Brian Ferrar were also present.

Simon Campbell described his satisfaction at the new partnership:

"I was delighted to be in Singapore to sign the joint SNIC-RSC agreement as this formalises the excellent relationships we have built up over the years. The UK-Singapore Partners in Science Initiative, signed in 2005 by both Prime Ministers, specifically encourages scientific collaboration and networks and this is exactly what we hope to strengthen through our joint agreement."
