The Royal Society of Chemistry has a wide variety of funding available to members and non-members (dependent on scheme). Many of these funding opportunities are available for African scientists to broaden their skills base, receive research funding, attend conferences and network with colleagues in other countries.

International Exchanges Scheme with the Royal Society
Funding is available to support travel and collaboration between the UK and Sub-Saharan Africa. Up to £12,000 is available for 2 year projects, including up to £2,000 for research expenses. Full information is available on the Royal Society website. The closing dates are 7th March, 13th June and 17th October 2017.
The Research Fund provides up to £4000 for those at a university or college to purchase chemicals and/or equipment.
Supports PhD students and early career researchers to undertake short to mid-term scientific visits to overseas or UK organisations.
