Defence Science and Technology Laboratory

The Defence Science and Technology Laboratory (Dstl) leads the formulation, design and delivery of the Ministry of Defence’s (MOD) science and technology programme. 

A trading fund of MOD, Dstl brings together the best teams from industry, academia, international collaborators and in-house to provide specialist science and technology services, advice and solutions for MOD and the wider government. 

Dstl, therefore, strongly supports its scientists and engineers seeking to attain chartered status or higher grades of membership of their professional institutes. 

Not only does this consolidate Dstl staff as experts of the highest calibre, recognised both nationally and internationally, it also allows for collaboration and networking across the scientific and research communities.
